OKORO CHARITY FOUNDATION

Welcome to the OCF. Our mission is to fight against extreme poverty, and to provide healthcare development, in underprivileged communities to improve living conditions of individuals and communities in Cameroon and Africa at large We are currently operating in Cameroon.

The OKORO CHARITY FOUNDATION (O.C.F) was founded in 2016 by Ekema Franklin Ekema and Roy Bansoa. After several visits to orphanages and outreach in underprivileged communities, we noticed that there were more children out there suffering, so we both decided that rather than parting on our birthdays we should take this as a yearly celebration of given out gifts to orphanages and underprivileged communities then after several years of doing this act of kindness with the support of my lovely sister, Lydia Epeti Esingila, we have been visiting orphanages for the past 5 years. In 2023, I decided to take necessary steps to make things happen and here we are today touching life’s and changing narratives.

The Start

We started small, with a vision of sending helping hands in underprivileged communities across Cameroon. We aimed to make life more comfortable for the less privileged and well-being of our children and underprivileged communities in Cameroon

Settling

As we settled into our work, we realized that we could make the most significant impact by fighting poverty and helping on community development, talent development, and empowerment programs for those in extreme poverty and underprivileged communities.

Today

We are amongst the leading voice for fighting extreme poverty in underprivileged communities across Cameroon. We work tirelessly to provide healthcare, education, and environmental facilities that improve living conditions of people across Cameroon and Africa at large.

WHAT WE DO

As Okoro Charity Foundation is working to fight poverty and social injustice in Africa, with a specific focus on the empowerment of the youth. We work side-by-side with communities to understand the root causes of poverty and find innovative, locally led solutions. Okoro Charity Foundation seeks to demonstrate the results and methodologies used in our projects to ensure transparency and accountability and advance the quality of our work.

We help to amplify the voice of vulnerable groups and leverage our organizational diversity and learning to tackle inequalities and bring about lasting impact.

Mission

Creating a world in which the youth realize and embrace their rights. Our mission is to teach job skills, provide self-development tools, inspire women and instill innovation in rural areas. Okoro Charity Foundation works towards the maximization of the contributions of children to Africa’s development potentials through educating children in the society.

Vision

To advance children’s social, economic and civic rights. We want a gender equal society where women feel empowered. The goal is to ensure that the youth become empowered by learning self-development and essential employment skills such as literacy skills, vocational English skills and financial skills. These skills teach them how to support themselves and their families.
